I don’t know about you but I suspect that like me, there are seasons where life just feels uncertain. It’s not like things are totally falling apart, but they are not fully settled either.
You’re showing up every day, doing what needs to be done, but deep down there are questions sitting quietly in your heart. For me some of those questions have been:
God, what are You doing?
Where is this going?
Am I even on the right path?
If you’re in that place right now, I want you to know you’re not alone. And more importantly, God is not absent in your uncertainty.

When Life Doesn’t Feel Clear
As moms, we carry a lot, we’re making decisions for our families, managing our homes, trying to grow spiritually, and for many of us, also building something whether that’s a career, a business, or a calling.
And honestly sometimes, everything doesn’t line up neatly. I’m currently in a season where I am waiting on God for clarity and guidance especially regarding career and purpose. If you are hearing all the buzz, AI is everywhere and of course that means jobs are at risk so its a scary time. There are moments where I feel like I am swimming in the ocean trying to stay afloat and not sink while trying to find ways to find my balance. Times like this I have to remind myself that God is in control.
Uncertainty can feel heavy because we like to know. We want plans, timelines, and reassurance.
But faith does not thrive in certainty, faith is built in the space where we don’t have all the answers. God said in our weakness he is strong
2 Corinthians 12: 9 says “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Trust Is Not a Feeling, It’s a Decision
So when we say we trust God, it would not always mean we wake up every day feeling confident and peaceful. Infact, sometimes, trusting God looks like:
- Getting up and doing what you know to do… even when you’re unsure, maybe that is constantly applying to jobs even you are not sure if you will get one
- Choosing not to spiral in anxiety
- Reminding yourself of truth when your emotions feel loud
- Surrendering control, again and again daily
The Bible says:
Proverbs 3:5–6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Notice it doesn’t say understand first, then trust.
It says trust without leaning on your own understanding meaning even in moments where we might not understand what is going on or God’s plan does not make sense, we should still trust him.

God Is Still Working Behind the Scenes
For me, one of the hardest parts is when it feels like nothing is happening despite everything.
But just because I can’t see it doesn’t mean God isn’t working, he is always working behind the scenes.
Romans 8:28 says “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him…”
Even when we can’t see it, he is working, he is aligning things you cannot see, he is preparing you for what you prayed for and building your faith in the waiting.
Sometimes we expect to receive something as soon as we pray, but I am also learning that delay is not denial. Sometimes it’s development where God needs us to grow because the current version of ourselves cannot handle the result of the prayer or blessing we are asking for.
What Trust Looks Like in Real Life
Trust is really something you live out daily in simple ways.
1. You keep showing pp and steward what is in front of you despite not having full clarity
2. You stay rooted in God’s word
3. You pray and keep praying
4. You surrender your will and control daily
5. You remember what God has already done in the past and know that he is faithful
If He was faithful before, He will be faithful again.
Conclusion: Final Encouragement in Trusting God
Uncertainty does not mean God is absent. Often times, it means He is doing something deeper than you can see and working on us.
You don’t need all the answers to move forward.
You just need to keep walking with Him and having faith in him.
One step. One prayer. One day at a time.
And trust that He is leading you exactly where you need to be.
